Elementary Science Bowl

The Carlisle Elementary Science Bowl team participated in the IASP State Science Bowl Competition last week. They began preparing for the competition in November by studying the biological structure of plants, plant cells, and animal cells. They also conducted an experiment on the impact of sodium chloride (salt) on plant growth. The theme for this year's competition was to raise awareness about the fact that a single scientific solution to a problem may have negative side effects, such as salting roads in winter, which can harm plant growth in the spring.

The IASP Science Bowl competition has three parts. First, the team is given a science test based on 8th-grade standards covering this year's topic. Then, they are required to conduct an experiment and present their findings via a team test. Finally, four individual students are tested on their general knowledge and comprehension skills.

Ultimately, the CES Team scored 8th in the state, placing us in the top 10.  Great Job!!
